Custom Window Treatments in Palmetto Bluff [ As seen in Southern Home Magazine ]

We have had the pleasure of working with some very talented interior designers. We recently completed a project for Chuck Chewning, of Charles H. Chewning Interiors, referred to as “Pointe Coupee”. This was an incredible custom home in Palmetto Bluff, with Louisiana-inspired architecture and decor.

“Inspired by the French colonial architecture of historic Parlange plantation, designer Chuck Chewning's construction of Pointe Coupee in Palmetto Bluff embodies the gentle pace of life in the Lowcountry.” -Jeanne Delathouder

Savannah Window Fashions collaborated with Chuck Chewning and his team on the custom drapery, Roman shades, and bunk curtains. Chuck’s vision was to create a home that felt like it had always been there, like it was a restoration of a historic home rather than a new build. We think he nailed it! When you walk through the home, there isn’t a room that isn’t dripping in thoughtful details and historic design & embellishments.

The curved top Roman’s seen above were quite special, as they required templating for the perfect inside mount fit. They are also operational. Other Roman shades seen in the home had a variety of linings, or were unlined, depending on room use.

This bathroom was so much fun - we used the toile from the custom drapery as trim on the valance. We think it turned out beautiful.

It was so exciting to see the professional photos published in the magazine. We installed the custom window treatments prior to the completion of the project - so it was a real treat to see the completed spaces! Our photos of the in-process installation look quite a bit different, but the attention to detail is still very clear.

Look at these details!! Reclaimed lumber from a North Carolina tobacco farm. Immense care was taken to create a home that felt like an authentic Low Country river house that had always been there.

This was definitely a project to remember! You can read more about the inspiration and design of this project on the Southern Home blog.
