Eastern Wharf Luxury Condo
Full-Service Window Treatments & Custom Bedding in Savannah
Project Overview
This Eastern Wharf condo project brought together interior designer Arlen Brown and the Savannah Window Fashions team to execute a full-home installation of custom window treatments, bedding, and soft furnishings.
The client purchased the residence during construction as a primary residence to be closer to family. Every element needed to support that goal: ease of use, privacy, and a cohesive design that felt complete the moment she arrived.
Our scope included the living room, primary suite, guest bedroom, and cigar room, with each space requiring a tailored approach based on its architecture and function.
Design Considerations
While the finished spaces feel effortless, the project required thoughtful planning and coordination across multiple rooms and architectural conditions.
Several key factors shaped the design and specification:
A Variety of Architectural Conditions Throughout the Home
Arched windows, expansive glass door openings, and grand patios overlooking the Savannah River created unique design opportunities throughout the residence. Each opening required a thoughtful approach to support the home’s architecture, preserve views, and ensure everyday functionality.
Balancing Light, Privacy, and Views
Maintaining natural light and preserving the panoramic river views while providing privacy—particularly in the primary suite and living areas—was an important consideration throughout the home.
Distinct Priorities in Each Space
From a darker, more intimate cigar room to a layered primary suite and welcoming guest bedroom, each room needed to function differently while still feeling connected to the overall design of the residence.
A Cohesive Look Across the Entire Residence
Materials, hardware, and proportions were carefully considered to create continuity throughout the home while allowing each space to maintain its own character.
Coordination with New Construction Details
Because we were involved during the construction phase, window treatment planning could be coordinated alongside electrical, architectural, and finishing decisions, helping ensure every detail integrated seamlessly into the finished home.
Our Approach
Project Management & Installation
With multiple rooms and moving parts, a structured approach to project management was essential.
Our team coordinated:
- Fabrication timelines across all spaces
- Ongoing communication with the designer
- Installation scheduling and execution
Installation included hardware placement, drapery hanging, bedding styling, and final adjustments to ensure every detail was completed as intended.
Technical Planning & Specification
Before fabrication began, every detail was thoughtfully considered to support both the design and functionality of the home.
- In the primary suite, separate motorized sheer and blackout drapery layers were incorporated to provide flexibility throughout the day while taking full advantage of the river views. Hardware selections were coordinated with the room’s architectural details, including crown molding and track placement requirements.
- In the guest bedroom, ripplefold drapery was selected to maintain a minimal stack, preserving access to the operational arched doors leading to the patio while working around an adjacent television and large arched opening.
- Lining selections were evaluated not only for privacy and light control, but also for how the treatments would present from exterior-facing views, ensuring the home felt as considered from the outside as it did from within.
Fabrication & Craftsmanship
Every soft furnishing and window treatment was fabricated with care and attention to detail, ensuring consistency throughout the home while supporting the designer’s vision for each space.
- Custom draperies were tailored for the unique conditions of each room, from expansive glass openings to specialty window shapes.
- Guest room bedding featured layered details, including French knot accents and a mix of textures that added depth and interest to the space.
- Decorative pillows incorporated a variety of materials and finishing techniques, including embroidered fabrics, textured solids, knife-edge construction, and flange details, creating a collected and thoughtfully layered look throughout the home.
Design Collaboration
We worked closely with Arlen Brown to translate the design intent into practical, well-executed solutions.
- Layered window treatment systems were incorporated where flexibility was needed throughout the day.
- Fabric selections were evaluated for both appearance and long-term performance.
- Custom bedding and decorative pillows were designed to coordinate with the overall palette while maintaining a tailored, refined look.
The Finished Result
The completed condo reflects a balance of comfort, function, and thoughtful design.
- Each room supports how the client uses the home during her time in Savannah.
- Layered window treatments provide flexibility for light control and privacy throughout the day.
- Custom bedding and soft furnishings bring a finished, intentional feel to each space.
- The overall design feels cohesive while allowing each room to maintain its own character.
Most importantly, the home feels complete. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, allowing the client to simply arrive and enjoy her Savannah home.
Why It Matters
Projects like this highlight the value of involving a window treatment partner early in the design process.
From coordinating with new construction details to managing fabrication, installation, and finishing touches, our role is to guide the process, coordinate the details, and support both the designer and homeowner every step of the way.
The result is a more organized experience and a finished home that performs beautifully for everyday living.
